Ahh....the second full day in a work week! It didn't start out too bad. I decided to sleep in instead of getting up with Craig. The bigger point here is the fact my puppy still doesn't want to pee or poop outside so why bother getting up to walk him??? I think the smorgasboard of new smells is too much for his brain to handle so he does his business in the comfort - and relative smell free - apartment. Thank heavens the apartment has all wood floors! I can't wait for his crate to be delivered so we can work on the old confinement method of puppy-training!
Sorry to digress....
I decided I needed some retail therapy so I got the puppy packback ready, put the leash on Oliver, changed purses (better to match my outfit) and headed for the door. Hmmmm...how many people can say they were locked INSIDE the apartment??? With all the dang locks on the door I wasn't able to get myself out. I wanted to cry. It seems when I unlocked one I locked another. What better reason to scrub the floors, do a load of laundry (yes, I think I figured it out) and start making a Christmas present for one lucky family member. I chose not to pick up my Polish book - not ready for full immersion yet!
Before I forget it was disco day on the local radio channel....oh for a pair of polyesters!
Thankfully, Craig came home early today so I was only confined to the house until 2:30. 3M hired a "helper" for us to assist with all the technical aspects of the move, i.e., internet, satellite (not that I mind four channels of nothing but Polish) and the all important cell phone. The "guys"are busy playing with the satellite remote as I write. Should keep them busy for awhile. With the trouble Craig had switching his cell phone from Polish to English I would recommend they start on my phone soon!
Not to dwell on the dog much longer but when we returned from the technical shopping we could hear Oliver barking from the elevator on the first floor (yikes we are on the 4th floor). Of course we were greeted with pee just inside the door. Not so bad except the landlord was with us to pick up a broken dresser drawer! I'm a bit crabby with him right now. He is cute though!
I learned today returning items in Poland is not a simple process (where is Wal-Mart when you need them)? It is likely the flat sheet I bought for our bed will become Masmar property. Not sure if it is worth my time trying to play charades with broken Polish for a relativeley inexpensive cotton sheet. My bad...sheets aren't sold in single, double, queen or king size here. They are in centimeters. My bed is 160 cm x 200 cm so logic would tell you a flat sheet 180 cm x 200 cm should fit, right??? Fat chance.....I think I 'm going to have my mom send me a queen size fitted sheet from home.
Last story for the day. I find it curious that everyone can tell I'm an American without me even speaking. I was told it might be my height and the fact I am a "natural" red head. Apparently, there was a time red headed babies were drowned (I'm wondering if they looked too German). Ever since I heard that story I've made a point to look for redheads. Interesting, I've yet to see a natural red head - or blonde for that matter. Maybe that explains the odd red hair colors around here???? I guess nobody wants to look like a natural redhead.
Enough for now.... I have to figure out the microwave so I can heat us some leftovers!

Cindy, what a hoot! I'm so glad you're blogging this ... and please tell me red heads were drowned as babies, not adults, so you don't have to worry?
