A Day of Good News!

What started out to be a cold, rainy morning turned into a wonderful day! We finally have the correct satellite set up and now can watch TV in English! The package we purchased also allows us to change the language on certain channels even though the original language was not English. Not that I miss TV but I do miss understanding what is being said!! Of note....I found out today the radio station I have been listening to since day one was a 24/7 traffic station! No wonder it sounded somewhat repetitive! Pavel was kind enough to help me find a better station. Sounds like a blonde moment but considering the situation I don't feel too stupid! It did make me laugh out loud though!

The dog has figured out outdoor poop and potty. Now I have to work on his "notification" barking. Nothing quite like a 7 pound watch dog!!

And finally....the best news of the day! Our shipment is going to arrive Friday! Now I will find out exactly how small the apartment really is! I really can't wait to touch a few more things from home. It will be nice to put up pictures of the kids. I do miss them!

The other day I suggested Craig could use a man purse for Christmas. I decided today I need Mrs. Cleaver clothes and Barbara Bush pearls! I'm becoming quite the house keeper! Today I mopped up more construction dust (we are living in a brand new building that is not complete) and I also did another load of laundry! As many of you know our whole family did their own laundry. At home my game plan was to wash only when I ran out of underwear - so I stocked up! I guess it was every three weeks I needed to do laundry. With the capacity of the washing machine and the fact I am home all day I am actually doing laundry daily - GASP!!! - even for Craig! Needless to say I could put Victoria Secret Poland out of business if I opt to sell the extra underwear I packed!

Today there was an incredible double rainbow outside our patio. It appeared as though the rainbow ended at the top of one of the twin spires of a large Catholic church on a nearby island. I will definitely post that picture after my computer is hooked up - hopefully early next week! It was breathtaking. I only hope my picture does it justice!

On a final and sad note...

Today we found out a co-worker of Craig's - John Kunach - who was working very close to the Poland project died at age 60 from an illness diagnosed this past August. Please keep his family in your prayers.

Congratulations....can you believe how much progress you've made in the past week?! Can you believe you've already been there for a week, or does it seem much longer? Getting your own belongings and some English-speaking media in the house ought to make a big difference, too.

Now, I hate to burst your bubble, but I just can't see the housedress and pearls on you yet; maybe try starting out with some curlers and a headscarf first. And try to stay away from Jerry Springer, even if it is in Polish!

How's Craig's job going?
