Just Another Day...

...in paradise! The weather in Wrocław has been magnificent! I was a little thankful for a stiff breeze on Monday but overall the weather gods have been smiling on us! We had a fast moving thunderstorm this week. Since I have a bad habit of leaving my laundry out on the back deck long after they are dry I was forced to dry them "twice"!

They Rynek in June is quite spectacular. There are new events happening all the time. We spent the past weekend enjoying the street performers (which I neglected to tell you Craig was called out of the audience to help a magician "fly". As Craig would tell you he got a little too close and personal with seven strangers and a sweaty magician who couldn't fly without support)! As things drew to a close for the street performers there was a large stage being set up for yet another event. They must have been expecting a crowd since the city set up two beer tents for the thirsty in Wrocław. There will be bands playing in the evenings continuously through the weekend. We have wandered into town the past two nights to enjoy the music and friendly folks. Last night we met up with our friends from Canada/Australia, their two girls and Val's parents from Vancouver. What an enjoyable evening. We then met up with some 3M'ers before heading home for pasta salad and (what else) kiełbasa! Two nights in a row for Poland's greatest food export! I think I better hit the store today before we both turn into a sausage!

I had to buy a new iron so managed to get some shopping in yesterday. I discovered that even in Poland sales are addicting. I ended up buying two sun dresses, each 50% off! I still struggle being a size 40 but the price just couldn't be beat. By the way...the iron was on sale as well! It still hasn't been taken out of the box but it will be useful the next time wrinkles call!

Polish lessons are going quite well. I'm still in book one but have expanded my vocabulary to include grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers, sisters et al. Yesterday I had to form sentences describing each of my family members. Those family members sending me letters and e-mails got much nicer descriptive sentences. Especially Aunt Karen since she was the most recent correspondent! If you want my Polish instructors to think higher of you I would suggest you drop me a line - SOON!!!!

We are getting closer to having another visitor! Finally we can take Rich's pictures down! We are hopeful Michael will be flying over for a few weeks the end of July. It will be so fun to show him our second home. There are so many great people here and I can't wait to introduce part of my family to our Polish friends.

Just realized I'm late for my International Friends meeting. I will post some pictures after my return.

Have a great day wherever you are!

p.s. Erica is now gainfully employed...isn't that exciting!
