It's Official

Our bags are packed and we're ready to go (wasn't that a song)?? After what feels like MONTHS of paper shuffling, coordination, phone calls and more paper shuffling we are booked on a flight that will take us through Amsterdam and Munich before finally landing in Wroclaw Thursday, October 11. The past weeks have been a roller coaster of emotions for me. I've laughed and I've cried as struggles with the Polish bank (and a Polish ATM card my puppy chewed), VISA applications and literally trying to fit a seven pound puppy in a five pound body so we can take him on-board the KLM leg of our journey. I'll provide more details of that adventure upon our arrival!!!! I'm surprised at what has triggered the tears but am pleased to report the laughs still overshadow the pain!! I only have the puppy paperwork and USDA approval process to complete this week - along with the anticipated last minute scramble on Wednesday.

Upon arrival we plan to stay at the Radisson until we take possession of our flat and get somewhat settled in. The air container with all our possessions for the year was packed and supposedly shipped this weekend. Before we see it again it will need to clear inspections and customs - a process that could take up to three weeks!! We've packed enough clothes to get us by but I am already anxious for the computer we packed!! Thanks to Erica I have something to use until our departure! The biggest challenge for me will be setting up a household (cable, internet, phones...) without fluency in the language. Can you see me playing Charades with all the service people? There will be adventures so keep checking back! I'll also update photos so be patient with me...I will update regularly once my computer arrives and we have internet access. Until that time I will be working on bi-lingual puppy commands!!
