On the Hunt

People swear there are sweet potatoes in this town but I've yet to find anything resembling one! I tried a different store today - holding out the highest of hopes - only to be foiled!!! I did get to the store via the tram and actually returned on a different one that dropped me off closer to home. I managed to get the second half of the trip free because I couldn't get the ticket stamp to work and didn't want to continue to embarass myself by repeatedly trying. I have conquered the enemy!!!

I did manage to cause check out line confusion today. The grocery store I went to has someone who weighs and marks your produce for you before hitting the check-out line. oops....She had to take my produce over for me. Polish markets have one-way turnstiles and guards by them so it was easier for her to gain clearance than me. Makes me wonder what is so expensive in a grocery store that guards are required. I think the lady behind me said "dumb American" in Polish. It was either that or she liked my shoes!!

I bought a Kit Kat today...the first real chocolate I've had since we've been here. I must admit it wasn't as good as I remembered. Guess I have that out of my system.

Craig's boss and several other more senior management are in town today through Tuesday. After picking his boss up at the airport Craig took us out to the plant. I must admit it was quite impressive. Much larger than it looked the last time I as out there. It was evident from listening to their conversation how much hard work and planning Craig - and others - have put into this facility. I'm glad the hard work has been paying off.

Oliver seems to have gotten used to the apartment and no longer barks when I'm gone. Yea!!! Now we need to test drive a boarding kennel so we can do some weekend travel dog-free! I also need to trim him a little so he doesn't walk into furniture!!!

Craig has a business dinner this evening so I'm going to meet up with a friend for dinner in the square. Might wander in some of the smaller shops to see what I can find. Saturday we are having the 3M contingent over for some drinks and appetizers. Not enough room for a sit-down dinner but it gives me a chance to use the kitchen!!

I hope you all enjoy your weekend!
