Wrocław!!!
It was pretty much an all day drizzle yesterday; however, Craig did manage to capture another magnificent rainbow! Unfortunately, that was the only sun of the day - making our walk to Polish lessons a bit uncomfortable. As were our lessons.... Some days just seem harder than others!! I did learn a few valuable tidbits...Did you know they have Milk Bars in Poland? They are the equivalent to our convenience stores where you can drop by in a hurry for a quick bite to eat. We also learned "toilet closed". I guess that is important but didn't quite seem to fit in with the overall restaurant/menu theme of the lesson. We did some restaurant role playing - now if the wait staffs here would speak slow enough for us to understand we might be able to dine in relative ease! We even learned how to tip!! Which brings me to my latest revelation...you don't tip hair dressers in Poland. No wonder Estera likes me so much. I was tipping almost 15%!! Pretty soon everyone will be fighting for my business!!
As per usual I made my trip to the Post Office during the busiest time of the day. Of course the line was filled with folks paying a month's worth of bills! It just doesn't seem to be the most efficient process but it beats me having to read statements!!! I just hand over cash and pray for money back!! I've got stamp buying down to a science! I slip a note under the bullet-proof glass and smile timidly at the postal agent. I swear they all think I am robbing the post office. Today I brought Oliver and he is definitely not big enough for me to ride out of town on so I think the patrons were safe! Before I leave I will buy stamps without the comfort of my "training notes"!!
Next weekend we are heading to Berlin! Cindy meets the autobahn!! Our plan is to leave Friday and return on Sunday! We thought about Barcelona but decided to hold off on that for more of a springtime adventure. Our other car option is Prague but I want to have a bit longer to stay there because it is supposed to be remarkable. Craig leaves for Taiwan and Korea shortly after our return. He gets all the cool trips!!
I've taken to playing solitaire with real cards! I won on my third hand and haven't won since...argh....One day I will play until I win - regardless!!
Craig received his residence approval this week. I don't need one...guess if you don't work you don't count!!! Oh well...I count where it matters - at the malls!!
