Daylight Savings Time - Not Here!!

Sorry to say those of you in the United States lost an hour of sleep this weekend! Poland does have daylight savings time but it has not happened yet. What does that mean??? Well...Michael (in Virginia) is now only 5 hours behind, Erica and midwest family are 6 hours behind and my brother and family are now 8 hours behind. I'll be sure to let you all know when we return back to the "regular" schedule.

Things have been busy since Craig returned from Taiwan/Korea. He had a good trip - even managing a round of golf in Taiwan. I won't rub it in that it was warmer here in Wrocław than it was in Taiwan!! They are starting to move into their office space in the plant so things are moving along on the job front.

I have a busy week ahead of me. Tonight we are going to see the European tour of "Stomp" at Teatr Polski. I'm not sure how excited Craig is about it but I have assured him he will enjoy himself and that it is nothing like opera! Tuesday I am visiting the Colgate-Palmolive plant in Swindica with some folks from the International Club. Wednesday I will be learning how to carve Easter eggs which is an old Polish custom. Craig blew the "innards" from four eggs and I'll report how many of those break during the carving process. I will try to remember to bring my camera to provide a play-by-play for you. Speaking of Easter, the Internation Club is also providing a traditional Easter dinner for members. I'm excited about that and will be sure to provide my impressions of the food! I will NOT eat anything carp-like!!

The other day a woman and her son came flying over to me to talk to me about Oliver. After telling them I don't speak and/or understand Polish they proceeded to speak very good English. They have just returned from living in New York for the past four years! We are going to start meeting up regularly so she can help me with my Polish. I'm so excited to have found such a nice, Polish friend simply because I have a Yorkshire Terrior!! They live about a ten minute walk from the apartment which makes it even nicer.

It was 50 degrees at 8:oo this morning. I only needed a lightweight jacket on my afternoon walk. It is brilliant out! There are flowers springing up all around. I will need to start buying containers for my patio garden. As much as I would like to start planting them it makes sense for me to wait until I return from Erica's graduation in May so they don't die from lack of water. Both or our patios are large, but covered. Unless it is a sheer, driving rain it is unlikely mother nature will provide moisture!

I have received one of three packages I know that have been sent. I guess I have not more excuses not to get back to card making since my supplies arrived. I've yet to see my licorice though!!! Bummer....maybe tomorrow!!

To anyone from LTCG...tell Don Nicholson he has a twin in Wrocław! Dang, it blew my mind when I wandered past this guy!

Hang in there...spring is right around the corner - even in Minnesota!!
