It has been raining and exceptionally windy for the past two days now! Moments ago there was even hail!!! As you might guess neither the dog or I are any too excited about going out for walks. Today he pooped in the elevator rather than do it outside. Good thing I have him on "indoor" formulated dog food. Evidently it is made so poop doesn't stink. I was too mortified to notice!!
Yesterday I hooked myself up to the pedometer I bought to see how much exercise I would get just sitting around doing nothing. Remarkably, I logged 1/2 mile. For being a small apartment that wasn't too bad. I'm lucky the refrigerator is not stocked or I would have had to log many more miles to balance things out. I'm somewhat fearful of driving when Craig is gone so I didn't venture out on any expeditions. I can't imagine what I would do if something happened and I couldn't reach him. I do have contacts programmed in my phone so I'm confident I could manage but why tempt fate?
Craig is enjoying his time in Taiwan and is currently in Korea. He did some site-seeing today. I'm anxious to see the pictures. You guys are going to think I have a gutteral brain but Craig called me specifically to tell me about the Korean hotel toilet. Potty humor has always been a personal favorite it seems!! The toilet not only has flush settings and a heated seat but it also has a setting that triggers "a gentle stream of water for cleansing" and a setting for drying. It's a good thing I couldn't afford to make the trip with him because I would'nt have been able to drag myself out of the bathroom! Remember when we all thought it was funny to have a phone in a hotel bathroom...this definitely beats that!!
I met the landlords of the apartment down the hall. They have quite contemporary tastes in paint and furnishings. It was very cool but nothing I could live with for a long period of time. Evidently they have rented the apartment to a woman from Canada. It will be interesting to see what it is like with neighbors.
Speaking of rain...when it rains it pours. This time I'm talking about my mailbox. I go with nothing for weeks on end and then BOOM everyone gets the urge to send something to us. I got a letter from my Mother-in-law (which had some problems making it through the Polish letter machine and arrived in a shredded state), my mom is sending me a package with antibiotic cream (they must not get infections here because they have NOTHING except hydrogen peroxide) and red licorice which I've been craving (wasn't a licorice fan back home so was surprised when I started craving it but for $11 in postage my mom was able to satisfy my craving). My friend Julie is sending me some more craft supplies and Craig's sister, Julie, just sent off a package. Many THANKS to all of them for thinking of us. Now if we could figure out a schedule so my utter joy of getting mail can be spread out a bit life would be great!
Made flight arrangements to get home for Erica's graduation in May. I'll be home 19 days so watch out!!! I think I'll take the Mini-Cooper out for a spin this trip - I do miss driving it!
Enough rambling...nothing much else to report so no sense burdening you with my blabbing.
