...just long enough for things to be funny again!!! And...two days in a row with a blog update!!! I think I deserve some kind of reward for that!!!
Couple of quick updates:
I now feel officially bad for feeling somewhat superior for coughing cold germs on the airplane instead of being on the receiving end of said germs on most flights I take. Craig appears to have caught my cold! oops....
Weather has been sunny and in the mid-eighties for the past two days. After walking to the bank to pay my satellite bill yesterday I decided it was time to fold up the winter clothes and bring on spring and summer! Pasty white legs don't stand out so much in Poland. It is a country full of men and women who don't seem to hold being tan in such high regard. It would be interesting to see what the skin cancer rate is over here!
Lots of tourists lately. We are hearing more English being spoken by other camera-toting, finger-pointing crowds lately. I' m past running up to anyone speaking English to see if they are from the US. I guess I can be over the top enough without trying extra hard!
Yesterday and today the Rynek was filled with tents, displays and a huge bandshell. I understand it is "Kids Appreciation Day". A wise woman once told me that kids didn't need a special day (i.e., Mother's and Father's Day) because every day is kid's day! Well, that is not the case in Poland!!! I guess Hallmark makes a killing here too! Anyways, Oliver and I enjoyed some dancers on the bandshell yesterday afternoon and the whole family (ok, me Craig and the dog) wandered down to listen to several bands and grab some dinner in the evening. Enjoyed a good Spanish meal well within ear-site of the bands!
Learned something new today...."Kfuck" is the sound a duck makes in Polish!!! Since leading "k" sounds are often silent (or said so fast you can't hear them...) it makes for somewhat of an "x-rated" animal noise!! I'll have to figure out what the other barnyard sounds are for future reference!
I got my patio gardens started today! As usual, I bought too much of something - in this case black dirt - so I plan on planting two more planters. Sounds like a Sunday job to me!
Yes...we have heard 3M is building an Aerospace facility here in Wrocław. In fact, it will be a continuation of the building Craig is working in. That means there will be four 3M divisions with manufacturing facilities in Wrocław. Wow...someone in a position of power must like the pierogies here (just kidding)!!
So as to not bore you I will cut this short for today. Besides, my fingernails have gotten so long it is hard to type (and I know every one of you is so glad to know that)!
hugs.....
