What's so Funny?

I've learned my lesson. Never, and I repeat NEVER, talk about how nice the weather has been for fear of it changing! After a long streak of sunny, beautiful days we have had three days in a row with cloudy skies and periodic drizzle. There has been a saving grace...the temps have been in the 50's!! We still manage to get out for our extended walks every day so things can't be all bad.

I've been trying to keep a running list of the funny and/or odd things I run across...following is a sampling:

1) The Adam Sandler movie, "Big Daddy" is translated to "Super TaTa" here in Poland. That brings a smile to my face!

2) Last night we were riveted to the action-packed TV spectacular "European Series Backgammon"! We had to go to bed before it started so we wouldn't be so hyped up we couldn't sleep!

3) We watched the first half of the Patriots v. San Diego game on Sunday - in real time off the American feed!!! Unfortunately, the announcers were Polish!!! Here is a sampling: oeian;liepa;dien Brady lhoia;dhpae Moss enodneralcehr Maroney conldi;enoindfa;dj Touchdown!!! Get the picture?? The real weird thing is there were absolutely no commercials so when the feed in the US went to commercial break the announcers continued talking and showing plays. The game seemed much faster without the commercial interruptions.

4) We couldn't stay up for the Packers v. Giants game but checked the score first thing Monday morning. I will withhold extended commentary and suppress my words of jubilation for the outcome....Sorry Schoen, but it is far too much fun to root against them!

5) Oliver has a new name given to him by the guards...one believes he is anorexic so gives me grief about not feeding him at all and, ironically, another guard has taken to calling him "kielbasa". I don't think I've ever seen a skinny kielbasa but laugh everytime they call him that so what the heck???

No new adventures....or mishaps to report! I'm trying to find a yarn store and think I might start taking random tram rides again. I need to spice up my life just a little bit! Craig leaves for the UK on Sunday. I'm hopeful of planning a weekend trip to Dresden the week after his return. It's either that or a train trip to Berlin. I so want to hop on a train and go somewhere. Not sure what the allure is but I'm sure it will result in a few good stories!!

Stay warm everyone!
